Sorry I missed St. Paddy's Day. I grew up in Jackson Heights Queens N.Y. All my neighborhood friends were Irish - or at least half Irish (if such a thing exists). In my young adult years I drank enough Guinness to qualify as more than an honorary Irish person. That, hanging around the Irish Arts Center in "Hells Kitchen", drinking at various and sundry REAL Irish Bars also helped cement my bonafides.
So, A belated Happy St. Paddy's Day. Always remember how many brave souls gave their lives for Irish freedom.

Such a thing certainly exists - I am half Irish even though I have never set foot in the Emerald Isle.
I think you can also be "A little bit Irish", "very Irish" or even a quarter Irish.
