next I read "some Assembly Required"

After going to "firedoglake", I went to "Some Assembly Required" -- just go there -- you might well cry too. Below will be a couple of samples from that blog - just to whet your interest --- as for me, I think I'll go read some positive "spin" (if I can find any) -- just to make some of the pain go away. At the same time, every time I read that crap -- I want to vomit.

Our "leaders" are so "protected" from the trials of "ordinary people" (but, you say, there are no "ordinary people" - isn't everyone "special" - at least that's what all the "self-esteem" gurus said, right?) that they do not have a clue. Obama is no more attuned to the plight of "the masses" than was George W. Bush, the worlds oldest and dimmest frat boy.

(Kids, if you want to be involved in a growth industry -- go become a "shrink" -- that's going to be a booming industry -- especially after all these "special" young folks realize they are just regular schlubs like everyone else.)

Anyway, she said, here are your samples. (Given all the news, you might actually be better off watching football - or some hi-def nature show)

Footnote: While we watch the wringing of hands and pleading voices of the GOP as they try to make the Bush tax cuts for those with incomes over a million dollars permanent, remember that the cost of those tax cuts over the next 75 years is equal to the entire Social Security shortfall over the same period.

Secret Stash: An unreported catastrophe is unfolding in the US housing market. While the media plays up whatever positives it can find – like the latest Case Shiller index which is only down a little in quarter ended in September – real-time data that portrays a housing market drowning in inventory that is likely to experience steep declines in prices and sales in the near future

Crocodile Tears: Will raising the capital gains tax from 15% to 20% cause a stock market crash? Maybe, but why do you care? For most of us, 5% of nothing is nothing.
