"NUVIGIL"

Have you seen the ads for "NUVIGIL"? It's a prescription "medicine" used to "improve wakefulness in adults who are very sleepy due to one of the following DIAGNOSED sleep disorders -

Narcolepsy

Obstructive sleep apnea

Shift Work Disorder ................................

Possible side effects: Mental - hallucinations, mania, thoughts of suicide

Etc., etc., etc."

In other words, they are once again willing to prescribe SPEED! Especially for "Shift Work Disorder".

There's a "war" against "crank" - which poor folks take for things like "Shift Work Disorder" - BUT - if you have a few bucks, you can get a DOCTOR to make it all legal. Just like they did back in the 1950's and 60's.

People have been using crap like that since FOREVER. Especially poor folks who work brutal hours, doing backbreaking labor.

It's only when the drugs used by the 1% become a "recreational" drug for the masses that they become illegal.

It seems the current workload many people are burdened with is so harsh that they just had to come up with a new form of SPEED -- dispensed by DOCTORS, all nice and legal.

"NUVIGIL" -- wow, what crap!. We NEED UNIONS!!

By the way, when I was still in N.Y.C. we saw a tee shirt in a Greenwich Village
shop with the (once upon a time) typical N.Y. "greeting". It was in white letters on a black ground -- "Fuck you, you fucking fuck!"

We need more of that attitude today. We need people to speak up against the way we treat working people here in the USA. We need more of the "community organizer", "Union Organizer" spirit. More Saul Alinsky, less Rick Santorum or Mitt Rommney.

More humanity, less "NUVIGIL".
