analysis

Now for a little analysis -- at least as good as you will see on the Sunday shows:

Gee-golly, things are really messed up. We will continue to minimize the real long term effects of the massive oil well blowout, concentrating instead on the politics.

If Republican we will say: Obama is "shaking down" BP, while at the same time saying, "BP must pay".

If Democratic: "Obama is doing all that is possible. We still want to see more 'emotion'. Why? I don't know. The Republicans are being unhelpful and obstructionist."

Notice, no one really concentrates on the blowout -- beyond a few platitudes.

No one seems to want a REAL investigation -- aside from afixing blame.

The well can continue to gush, the wetlands can continue to die, the private security can continue to deny access, people can continue to get sick -- as long as we can BLAME someone -- everything is OK.

Now, why haven't we heard the idea that BP's CEO is "The Anti-Christ"?

Heck, if oil flows and flows, fouling the Esat Coast of the USA, going to England, getting into other ocean currents and killing off whole species of fish by destroying the food chain -- well, wouldn't that be one of those "apocalyptic events"?

Does the blame go back to GWB or "Chaney The Dick"? Are the anti-regulation folks like Dick Armey major disciples of The Anti-Christ? Will the Republicans "respond" to this event, this crisis, by calling for TAX CUTS and LESS regulation?

Will we finally reach a point where having someone to blame is not enough anymore? Or, will we continue to be total idiots?

Will we be forced into action -- or just die away, allowing the planet to heal itself?
