Why Are We So Stupid?

The right wing dividers are out there urging all their fellow haters to VOTE, VOTE, VOTE --- meanwhile, us libs, progressives, LGBT, etc., folks are still counting all the dancing angels on the head of our particular pins.

we make sarcastic, ironic, you tube vids, we argue among ourselves, we neglect to speak about the real issues -- as if the extreme, NAZI, agenda of our fellow citizens will suddenly disappear. as if they will only harm those "other" others -- not us.

We don't think the dismantling of whats left of our safety net will affect US -- just some of those "others".

We do not realize exactly what's at stake.

after eight years of Bush, we elected Obama -- thinking he might just restore the USA to what we thought it once was. Well, he has proven himself to be another "leader" who is a totally owned subsidiary of our Ruling Class (TM applied for).

The wars rage on. Civil liberties are still what they were under Bush. Our "Patriot Act" is still in effect -- while The Department Of Homeland Security (among others) is still investigating Quakers, vegan peace groups, and various book clubs.

All that notwithstanding, electing the current crop of Republicans will lead to the end of any hope for expanded health care, stronger social security, expanded college aid for low and middle income folks, stronger medicare, etc., etc., etc.

These morons actually think a war with Iran would "stimulate the economy" -- while improving water systems, railroads, schools, roads, bridges --- our entire aging infrastructure --- would not have any effect.

They want tax cuts for the rich, and want the poor and middle class to pay for all the bailouts.

There's not one word said about "shared sacrifice". Not one word about us all being in this together. The Republicans only talk about punishing the OTHER -- all the damn "others" out there. Their trick is to convince YOU are not one of those "others" -- when you knoe damn well you are (unless you make well over $300,000 per year).

Right now my anger and sorrow know no bounds.

The unions are either toothless or in bed with our overlords. The right wing rails against the "radical homosexual agenda" (whatever that is), while groups like HRC sit around and ask for "patience", while attending some pretty fancy parties.

Corruption totally permeates every branch of government. I wonder if Bush was our Caracalla, or our Caligula. Who exactly Obama really is, and why so many of our citizens don't seem capable of realizing something is wrong.

I'm very, very, upset -- to put it mildly.
