We have had a terrible outbreak of severe weather all across many of our southern states. At least 45 dead with billions in damage. Oklahoma, Missouri, Maryland, Arkansas, North Carolina, etc. were all hit -- with over 20 in North Carolina alone.
This severe weather hit what is called "the Bible Belt". It was a true disaster, and I feel for those affected --- BUT --- why doesn't anyone say "It's God's Will"?.
Why doesn't anyone say -- "that's what we get for preaching hate from our pulpits"?
Why are ALL the Governors in these states asking for help from the HATED Federal Government?
Why are there so many "caring" news articles? Why not tell those "lazy folks" to "pull yourselves up by your bootstraps"?
How can you totally destroy the Federal Government, shrink it down to nothing -- then expect it to have the resources to help in time of emergency?
Part of the Republican "budget plan" called for less money for the weather service, fewer weather satellites, etc. How's that going to work? How will they be able to provide the warning folks need to protect themselves if they do not have the resources?
The states affected are, "Red States" -- they oppose "Obamacare" (even though they have no idea what it provides). They oppose social programs.
Oh yeah, they also oppose most spending on infrastructure.
How's that going to work for them -- rebuilding roads, towns, etc., etc., etc.?
Do you think those not affected by these horrific events will be willing to pay higher taxes to help their neighbors? Or, will they follow the grand Republican Motto: "Fuck 'Em!"?
