It's "only" 102F so far today. High is supposed to reach 110. One thing I notice is the lack of Texas "old-timers" talking about how it was hotter in "the good old days". Nor is anyone talking about how they worked through the heat, and lived "just fine" without air conditioning.
This heat seems to have a cumulative effect. One or two days in a row of 102, 3, 4, or 5, is O.K., well over 30 in a row is NOT.
It does teach you how "cool" 98 is, though. Trust me -- you can tell the difference.
