Colbert: GOP running mate will be the Grim Reaper

"After watching Monday’s CNN Tea Party Republican presidential debate, Comedy Central’s Stephen Colbert came to the conclusion that the nominee should choose the Grim Reaper as his or her running mate.

The audience at a debate last week on MSNBC the cheered Texas Gov. Rick Perry’s record of executing 234 prisoners. During Monday’s CNN debate, the audience called for letting the uninsured die.

“These debates are supposed to help us find the Republican presidential candidate but they have already helped us find his running mate: the Grim Reaper,” Colbert explained Tuesday.

“That’s right, the angel of death. Clearly, he is popular with the GOP base this year. He’s got all of the qualifications they are looking for. He’s old and bone white. He’s packing a weapon, he’s got an incredible war record and believe me, no one wants to get rid of Obamacare more than this guy,” the Comedy Central host added.

“Plus, he is a close second to Rick Perry in executions.”
