I've been loath to post anything for the last few days. After all, what can I say that hasn't been said before? What can I do to turn back this hateful, regressive, juggernaut? American citizens at Republican Rallies seem to have no empathy. Vocal Americans don't give a damn if you live or die. Voting Americans prefer superstition to science, while at the same time playing with the fruits of basic research -- computers, the internet, video games, DVD's, social media, etc., etc., etc.

We are lost. We have lost our history. It's been replaced by various false and dangerous myths. Our population knows nothing, reads nothing, and thinks facts to be optional.

Ignorance rules.

There are times I think all the talk about apocalypse this, and apocalypse that, is caused by that nagging fear the seientists are RIGHT. Folks who deny GLOBAL WARMING seem to be rooting for "the rapture" so they do not have to reap the "rewards" of their anti-science stance.

They "know" all kinds of "stuff" is FUBAR, but they can't bring themselves to admit the "evil libtards" are RIGHT.

The level of denial among our supposed "leaders" is astonishing. I sometimes wonder when some one of them will tell the truth as they actually know it to be -- "Oh, by the way, things are REALLY fucked up. We suspect that Earth will only be able to support one billion people in the near future. That's a 'best case scenario' -- sorry. Have a nice day."
