Yesterday at Starbucks

Here is how "Some Assembly Required" signed off for Christmas Eve: "Christmas Preyers: That's it for now, I've gotta go to the mall and kill someone over a pair of sneakers. Merry Christmas." (please follow link to original)

We made a stop at ONE of our local Starbuck's yesterday, prior to going shopping (big MISTAKE). While waiting for my "Venti Mocha - with an extra shot" the barista's mentioned "The Sneaker Riots". I was incredulous -- after all, how can anyone RIOT over a pair of SHOES?

The other folks in the shop seemed to think it quite "normal" -- after all, they were the new "Air Jordans" (or whatever the hell they were). In fact, different people spoke of how THEIR KIDS already have them -- as if it means ANYTHING AT ALL.

So, we "understand" riots over a pair of shoes promoted by a gambling, mogul, EX-athlete, but think PEACEFUL protests by folks FOR THE 99% are "criminal"

We are truly, and forever LOST!
