To all my dear friends, and ex-friends, in the Northeast, and our West Coast -- you know, all you folks who laugh, and point to those "uneducated Southerners". Well, have any of you noticed? The call for our DEATH from the pulpit, the PUBLIC call for our death from various Pastors, Preachers, and "Holy Men", has increased by leaps and bounds.
It's not just in the South. It's not just from a few chronically deranged "Preachers" -- it's become a (small) groundswell.
As we become seen as human by more folks, as we gain some measure of equal rights, those arrayed against us become more desperate, more strident. Before they just went the "hate the sin, love the sinner" route. Now, they say "KILL THE BASTARDS!!!".
Isn't that just so "Christian" of them?
They love them some Jesus -- but quote the Old Testament, supposedly supplanted by the New Testament, when it comes to hating (and killing) queers. By the way -- you "disobedient children", and "questionable women" might just be next. In fact, I think that once the "final solution" for teh Gay is put in place -- the next step will be to SUPPORT polygamy -- after all, according to these "Christians" women are to be "cherished", and given whatever "rights" their husbands allow. Similar to the rules for treating SLAVES.
So -- after removing any semblance of rights for women, returning black and brown folks to slavery (did any of you homophobic black folks actually believe you were not next?) -- well then -- the next step, the only LOGICAL next step is going after the JEWS -- after all, these folks are "good "Christians".
If you think that's too much - just stop and look at the vicious attacks on both LGBT/T folks and WOMEN. When did any hate group dissolve when, and if, their goals are met. That would mean ending their "gravy train" (and I don't mean the dog food).
O.K -- here's the latest I have. This from Raw Story. Please follow link to original.

The pastor of New Hope Baptist Church in Seneca, Kansas says
President Barack Obama has gone too far in supporting same sex marriage
and it’s time for the U.S. government to begin killing gay men and
lesbians.
“Terrorists are dangerous, the economy is a real and present danger,”
Pastor Curtis Knapp told his congregation on Sunday. “But there is
simply nothing other than the holocaust of the unborn which imperils the
safety of our country or places our people in jeopardy as does the
leader of the Western world publicly raising his fist at the heavens and
declaring that the bedrock institution of society, ordained of God and
meant to be protected by the state, is little more than a convention of
convenience with the children of Sodom to transform the meaning of
something, which is precious to Jesus Christ, and a living picture of
his love for the church into a legally protected justification for
perversion and a vehicle of hatred aimed directly at that love.”
Knapp went on to read from Leviticus 20:
“If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman,
both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put
to death.”
“They
should be put to death,” Knapp declared. “‘Oh, so you’re saying we
should go out and start killing them, no?’ — I’m saying the government
should. They won’t, but they should.”
“You say, ‘Oh, I can’t believe you, you’re horrible. You’re a
backwards neanderthal of a person.’ Is that what you’re calling
scripture? Is God a neanderthal, backwards in his morality? Is it His
word or not? If it’s His word, he commanded it. It’s His idea, not mine.
And I’m not ashamed of it.”
“He said put them to death,” he continued. “Shall the church drag
them in? No, I’m not say that. The church has not been given the power
of the sort; the government has. But the government ought to [kill
them]. You got a better idea? A better idea than God?”

Calls to the New Hope Baptist Church were not returned by the time of publication.
