NOTHING CHANGES

I was doing a bit of channel surfing - no baseball to watch - and settled on "The Story Of Us", a history of mankind (more or less).  speaking of the first recorded trader known by us, some dude named Amur.  We have hundreds of clay tablets left by him - including a letter he wrote to a business associate.  In it he complains about his son Amur, saying "Amur is only interested in food and beer.  He needs to grow up and be a man."

NOTHING CHANGES !!

We are stupid because we learn nothing from the past.  We refuse to believe the facts shown us.  We shortchange our children, often destroying their potenti8al because of our own pride and shortsightedness.

In any case, I'll most likely die well before the great extinction of mankind that's coming.  If we survive the coming climate disaster, I suspect there will only be a very few of us.  Civilization and knowledge might well expire also  --  after all, there seem to be few educated folks left.  not enough to learn from the past.

Once again, I'm happy to be 73 and not 33.
