Were those really "bullseyes"?

After looking at Sarah Palin's famous "target" campaign ad, I'm beginning to think they might not be "bullseyes" -- to me those symbols could very well be a form of "Celtic Cross" like the one used by "Stormfront", a virulent, racist, anti-semitic, hate group.

Knowing the right wing love for "code words", for phrases that vilify African-American's, Latinos, LGBT/T folks, immigrants, and others on their "undesirables" list, perhaps the symbol was in "solidarity" with "white power" groups. The fact Ms. Giffords is Jewish might not be a total coincidence.
