HEAT

Currently it's 106 F here in Dallas. It has been over 100 F for over 30 consecutive days -- the second longest such stretch ever (the longest was in 1980).

If you have never lived in such temps you might not quite understand how 96 degrees can feel almost "cool". You can tell the difference.

One casualty of this extreme heat has been our veggie garden. Working outside when it's 102 or above is no fun -- especially as you age.

Fishing is also out. Sun from above, and reflections from the water can really mess you up. Good polarized sunglasses, lots of water, sunscreen, and covering up are prescriptions. Even better is staying inside and telling stories of years gone by.

Of course, as everyone seems to be seeing more EXTREME weather - both winter and summer -- there are still folks SCREAMING: "There's no such thin' as gobal warging, crimate change, or any other libtard plots -- ye hear!!"

My dear friends in more "liberal" areas seem to think this stuff is a joke. They think all you need are facts, and people will begin to "understand". THEY don't "understand". This HATRED of "libtards", and all their "godless", "sciency", "elitist", "left-wingy" stuff is a part of the FAITH, supposed "conservatives" have.

It doesn't matter how many times you "prove" YOUR point -- they will not, and cannot believe you. You are "evil". You, and your fancy friends LAUGH AT THEM. You had their attention once, and you screwed them over time after time.

Now, no matter what you say -- you are WRONG.

AND ---- if their misguided beliefs bring about the end of The USA, or the end of the world -- it will be "God's Will", and, of course, the FAULT of "The Libtards".

It's time to understand. It's time to attempt to rebuild the union movement, time to awaken the working class -- it's time to understand that poor, discarded white people also exist. It's time to talk about issues that help ALL poor people -- time to not only speak of that, it's time to put it in practice. Time for all to be ready to fight for the RIGHTS of ALL Americans

"A rising tide lifts all boats" is something to remember. Get rid of "identity politics" -- it's now a class issue.
