Thursday

Went to a show of Charles Russell's watercolors at the Amon Carter Museum of American Art Yesterday. They also had a small exhibit titled, "Sargent's Youthful Genius" -- both shows very worthwhile. Russell is quite under rated, still.

The museum is in the Fort Worth Museum District. The Amon Carter, Kimbell, and Fort Worth Modern are there. All VERY good, all worthwhile visiting. The Kimbell is expanding. It's a good museum now, it has a chance to be a GREAT museum in the future.

After leaving, we decided we did not want to fight rush hour traffic all the way back to Rowlett (about 50 miles) so, we went to a hamburger joint named Freds.

It was featured on "Diners, Driveins, and Dives" not that long ago. Also rated one of the best Hamburger joints in the DFW area. Our favorite there are the French Fries with Cheese, Jalapenos, Onions, and Bacon -- as evil as it sounds -- they are delicious. We asked why.

Answer -- "We use fresh, handcut potatoes, REAL cheese, good bacon and onions". You can really tell the difference. Instead of having one of their 1/2 lb "Fredburgers", we opted for 1/4 pounders, no pickle, onions, or mustard. Yes, lettuce and tomato. The burgers are also DELICIOUS. They seem to use real meat, with hand formed patties.

To top it off -- I got on the scale today and was down 2 lbs.

How good is that?
