O.K. -- it's Tuesday. The Saints have won the super bowl. I really expected Manning and his Colts to pick the Saints apart at the end -- tie the game -- and win in overtime.

Not to be. New Orleans won this game. They took risks, played well, capitalized on mistakes -- and won the game.

My old Alma Mater - Syracuse is playing basketball quite well. Love to see them go DEEP in the NCAA tournament.

The thing I'm waiting for is BASEBALL. Soon we will have pitchers and catchers -- then the rest of the players show up, and all the preseason chatter begins.

I fear the Yankees will miss Matsui, Damon, and Melky -- three major parts of their lineup -- gone. Damon was a good #2 hitter behind Jeter. Matsui, limited to DH last year still was a very useful #5 or 6 hitter, while Melky had some really clutch hits in the 9 hole. You can't get rid of 1/3rd of your lineup and not expect some major changes, disruptions.

I wish them well, but with the Yankees the new Boss is NOT the same as the old Boss -- I fear for the Yanks. Don't think Gardner/Winn will cut it in left field. Hope Swisher has another decent year -- he can be an "All-American-Out" with just a slight diminishing of his skills.

I really would have loved to see Damon, Matsui, or Melky back -- at least one of them -- if only for the comfort of having another veteran.

Oh well, it will soon be time to see what happens.
