Everyone knows about the Basie big band. He was also a heck of a piano player. Freddie Green - guitar, Norman Keenan - bass, Sonny Payne - drums.

Just note how spare Basie's playing is. Freddie Green played rhythm guitar for Basie for over 50 years, except for a brief interruption.
