I guess there's one lesson the right-wing-fundamentalist-republican-haters have taken away from the Virginia pro-civil-rights backlash.

It's O.K. to fuck over the queers if you do it QUIETLY. When you make a big splash about it, you run the risk of waking up all the sleeping "sorta-progressives", the apathetic "liberals" -- those folks who really do not give a damn until it begins to LOOK BAD.

Do it quietly and you may well be able to round us up, ship us away, put us in mass graves -- but don't make huge pronouncements -- it upsets the digestion.
